2003 GTX 4 tec high heat alarm going off???

What's happening when the alarm goes off for high heat but the engine temp on the display shows 84 which is the same as lake temp?

Faulty what?

I just had the main fuse control panel replaced - could it be that?

Thanks - I'm getting tired of all these repairs - this is #3 this season. UGH!

sHOP mANUAL

I'm looking for a shop manual for a 4 tec but I have the sportster model which the manual is tough to get. I have a fuse problem. if you have a manual have you found the problem shooting section helpful? I heard 1 person say the manual are lousy with trouble shooting.
Thanks. Hope you get better help than what I could do.

Could just be a bad temp sensor. It located in the water box, pull it out and have a look. sometimes they corrode and set the alarm off.

Talking to myself and anybody else who is looking at this thread...

The high heat alarm went off because of a cracked housing that was not letting the flow of water go the way it was suppose to.
