Ok, I have read several post regarding similar problems, my 2003 GTX 4-tec Supercharged craft had a bit of a flood inside engine bay, not like sinking but high water over the battery, drained it then let sit to dry for a couple of days, went to start and nothing, tried charging battery but all I get when start button is pressed is click click click from solenoid. So I jump high current on solenoid unit turns over and starts, time to put it to rest for the season so I changed solenoid during the winter charged battery and go to start all I get again is click click, click, WTF. So I get new battery, trickle charge for 24 hours install, push button she starts great. two weeks later go to start, nothing, tried charging it still only click click after charge, but can start engine by jumping solenoid. I talk to dealer they suggest pretty much what I have done. I did not have time to try and connect directly to the solenoid input wiring thinking maybe it has a deteriorated ground, it does have some power to solenoid as it is clicking, I am assuming the two wires to solenoid are ground and hot from start switch. I have read that the ground maybe from the ECM could this be controlled by the ECM such that when something is not correct it cuts the ground off. My thought is if I connect directly to the solenoid power and ground and it starts then this would prove the solenoid is good, the started is to me good and the battery is good so the final part of the puzzle would be the input from the start button and its ground. Or, the battery is bad (even though it is new and load test would prove this).
