2002 Utopia 240 Mercury won't plane

I've had an uneventful summer with issues on the Utopia till two days ago. The boat turns on normally. At docking speeds everything is working well but when I hit the throttle the engine RPMs increase but speed doesn't at all.

There is no major vibration and I checked out the impeller to see if anything was stuck and it wasn't. There were two 5 inch weeds in there though. Just before it happened a cpl girls pulled the boats from the rear toward the shore and the jet did hit a rock very lightly.

Could this be an impeller wear ring or any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Check the tolerance between the impeller and the wear ring, and check it for any obivous large voids or tears...

Almost sounds like you arent getting water into the impeller??
