Bought it used, one week ago. Took it out for a test run before having the whole family on it. It ran fine for a couple of hours, it did cut out twice at high end. Bring it in to trailer, it died. Running on one cylinder. Put a new plug in, no difference. There's spark and gas. I don't know anything about these boats. Have no idea where to start.

Go to autozone, buy a compression Tester. Pull the spark plugs, and place the spark plug wires on the PROVIDED plugs, which ground them out.
Then, screw in the compression tester, and crank it over for about 20 seconds. Doo this to all the cylinders. They should all be within 10% of each other. If it is down around 90 psi, you will be looking at a new top end, minimum. If one is 140 PSI and the other is 50, you are cooked.

ALSO look at the spark plugs. They should both be light to dark brown.

You may just have fouled plugs. IF so, replace the plugs.

I say to do the compression test, just because it will let you know alot about the motor's condition.

Hopefully, it just has a fouled plug.

The plug wires might just have a bad connection.

cut the zip tie at the spark plug end on the boot and pull the boot off. Cut off about 1/4 inch of the wire, push the boot back on (push hard), and put on a new zip tie.

Nice easy thing to try without making any trips :)

If its not that, it could be compression, or it could be a bad coil.
