2002 Seadoo RXDI Knock Sensor Questions

Hello,

I rebuilt the engine over the winter for my 2002 Seadoo RXDI and it has a maint light (good to note it appears 10 seconds after start). I haven't been able to get my hands on a buds or candoopro system for months now so I've just been tinkering around.

The question is about the knock sensor, it reads about 4.84 ohms of resistance I believe it's actually more like 4.84 million ohms but you get it. When you knock on the block or sensor it spikes up in ohms indicating the sensor is listening. But what is bothering me is that when you unplug the sensor with the engine off no key in it doesn't throw a maint light. But I unplug any other sensor like MAP for example or even the diag cap it before even starting displays the maint light. Plug those back in the light clears right away. But with the knock sensor, it doesn't care if it's in or not. Could someone let me know if that's normal or not?
