Trying to change the gear oil in the stator (I could have the wrong name for the part but I am having problems finding a parts list for anything on the jet drive.) I can only find one video to show how to lube the jet drive. The video shows it came off very easily. I’ve had this boat two years and I don’t think the rear has been lubed for many years. The rear boot came off with no problem at all but the stator housing will only come off about half an inch. I definitely don’t want to break any of the aluminum housing but I would very much like to get it off to check the bearings and change the oil. Any suggestions would be helpful. TIA

If your referring to the jet stator do you have the stearing and shift cable out of it's holding location.is the stearing nozzle removed?there are two torx on the ride plate that bolts to the housing are those removed?

Got it!!! Thanks for your reply. I had the steering and shift cables disconnected. the two torx screws on the rear of the ride plate were seized & stripped so I tried to remove the two torx screws toward the front of the ride plate. One came out and the other broke off. A small piece of the torx was sticking down ( it looked like it broke off flush) and kept catching on the ride plate. Had to remove the cover around the intake grate and the stator finally came off easy. Once off I took it to a machine shop and they were able to remove the two torx screws to separate the ride plate from the stator. New Bolts, bearings and seals just came in and I'm ready for install
Do you happen to know the thread size of the two plugs on the stator? I ordered new plugs and would like to clean out the threads on the stator. TIA Looks like 1/2 18 but I would like to be sure

Take a tiny nylon brush and clean the threads they are a pipe thread and can't remember the size been years since I had to do a oil change on them.i never chased them always took break kleen and a brush and reamed it that way.
