I've owned this Utopia 185 for 3 years now and am looking to do some basic tune-up/maintenance. However, I cannot find anything on the Internet about what spark plugs I need and what gap would be required. Also, what fuel filter, i.e. inline fuel filter, or other fuel filter (fuel/water separator) I should be changing. What should I do regarding oil filter change, etc... Are these parts I can get at Auto Zone or do I need to hit a Marine Engine shop? The engine I have is the Merc M2 210. Any advice or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Well the basic things to do if you are not having any problems, but want to do maintenance are.....
1. Drain and replace drive housing lubricant.
2. Drain and replace stator housing lubricant.
3. Remove impeller and lubricate impeller shaft with 2-4-C with Teflon to prevent impeller
from seizing to the shaft.
4. Remove engine deposits with Power Tune Engine Cleaner.
5. Replace engine fuel line filter. (I don't have a # for you...sorry)

Spark plugs for the 210/M2 engine are:
NGK BU8H or BUZ8H with Surface Gap

There is no oil filter for the 2 stroke motor. The oil is injected. You need to check that entire oil injection system for line deteriation and any leaks.

Not sure that Auto Zone will have what you need.

Hope this helps. By the way, if you have had this boat for 3 years and haven't performed those pump maintenance items you are way overdue. Many people on this forum are very knowledgeable and helpful and will provide instruction along the way. Good luck.

Thanks for the information! Still looking for fuel filter info but this certainly gives me a good start. I have owned the boat for 3 years however have only had it out a handful of times. Last year the weather did not cooperate at all. Thanks again. Any other info others can offer would be greatly appreciated.
