Hi Team this is my first post here. I live in the land of Australia and need some help.

Can anyone out there tell me what the compound is that the makers of the voltage reg use to fill the regulator with. I need to know because the company i work with would like to obtain some to use in a project we have underway in a totally unrelated field. It seems to be some sort of silicon that has very good sealing and stick ability. Hopefully someone will know the answer.

Regards to all here I find this site a mine of info. Well done to all those who contribute.

epoxy.....

It's actually a high grade epoxy that is electrically neutral. I don't know what type exactly but I've beat and banged to try and get it out. The stuff is a lot more solid than silicon....

I took a minute to look up some stuff and found, there are many different types of substrates that can be used for encapsulation, depending on the application, like computer circuit board. Here is a link to one site I did some of my reading from... http://materials.globalspec.com/Industrial-Directory/dielectric_encapsulation_seal_coat
