I just bought a problem 02 RX DI. 66 hours. Ski broke down on previous owner, took it to a shop with 25 psi on mag side and 130 on pto side. They pulled the head and found no broken pieces. Owner had a buddy put in new pistons and rings, took it out and it ran like crap, he took it to another shop and they said some sort of 3rd cylinder was down? I bought it at this point. Ski starts up and runs rough and maint light comes on. I did a compression check and now the pto cylinder shows 0. Pulled the head, there is some light scoring on the mag cylinder from the previous breakdown, but the pto cylinder is in perfect shape, no scoring. It looks from the inside of the head, that the cylinder is not firing. The head is perfect clean on the pto side, no soot at all. Mag side has very black soot in it. I have spark at both plugs. I also put the head back on the check to see if that side was getting fuel. When I pull the plugs and turn over the engine, a fine fuel mist comes out of both cylinders.

I am a bit confused as to why the pto side has zero compression. The cylinder looks perfect on the inside.

Thanks for the help.

Also, I understand the problems that the DI skis have. Looks like most problems come with the di system. I'd like to try and fix the ski.
