2002 GTX Electrical Issue

2002 GTX Carb'd

Runs great for various amounts of time then all of a sudden will just die. Not sputter, just die. Sometimes the display goes out like the lanyard is pulled off, other times it will just kill the engine and the digital readout is still visible. Most of the time you can just press the start button again and it starts right up.

2 beeps every time you install the lanyard. I cleaned the post and key with soapy water.

Any suggestions?

I cleaned the post and key with soapy water....think you need new post, or check, see if rust in landyard key...
