2002 GTX DI skipping at top end

Took out this weekend - first time since being winterized and tuned up. Ran great for a day with top speed in low to mid 50's - but next day went back to being only able to reach 40. doesn't have a problem up to 30 but struggles after that - did the same at the end of last season as well.

Any thoughts - changed spark plugs but did not seem to improve things.

does your engine sound fine? when you get up to speed, does it hit the rev limiter? I would start by checking your wear ring and impeller

we had the wear ring replaced when it was winterized - but it is behaving just as it did at the end of last season - could the wear ring have gone bad after one day of hard riding???? impellar is fine.
