2002 gtx di pump problem -rubber ring hanging out

I was riding my ski and suddenly speed dropped of to about 20 on a sharp turn.

I shut down and restarted and the maint display flashed.

Jump in the water to see if I sucked up something and found a black ring shaped piece of plastic hanging out the pump. when connected it makes a six inch diameter ring about 1/4 inch thick. Looks like it is torn off of something. I will check the parts list for a similar part, but any idea what it might be? Or did i just suck up someone else's crap??? Ran better after removing, but still did not sound right on the way back to my dock.

Any help would be appreciated

More info needed on pump problem...Help Please

I took off my pump tonight and it looks the rubber ring is the lip on the wear ring.

I also noticed a lot of pitting and wear on the impeller.

I am pricing a new impeller and wear ring, but i notice a lot of used pumps on ebay. Many look the same, but how do I tell if they will fit. Is there a pump housing number or something that will let me know if it is the right one?
