Similar to this closed thread shown below, my wife's 2002 GTX flashed a CHK ENG message and then the red warning light came on
and one beep. The message and warning light stayed on but no limp mode and one more beep about 5 min later as she was
waiting to load onto the trailer. I checked the oil level and it appears (man those dip sticks are hard to read with clean oil)
that the oil level is at about 1/3 of the way in the "ideal level zone". I try and keep it at half so I will add a slight bit.

Also she was not doing much to throw the oil around and possibly trigger a low oil issue which AFAIK throws a different error.

When we got home I put the Candoo on and got three "occurred" but not active codes:

P1202 - Oil tank pressure switch implausible or blow-by valve still closed
P1681 - Communication problem - instrument cluster message missing
P1682 - Communication problem - EMS message missing

No message appeared at startup in the driveway and after I cleared the codes, none reoccurred nor did CHK ENG show again.

In this closed thread http://www.seadooforum.com/showthread.php?68942-2002-GTX-4-TEC-CHK-ENG-light most were attributing it to the oil sensors
(myself included...) but MKOV608 attributed his to the instrument cluster being corroded. I did notice her cluster was fogged up yesterday (1st time I
seen that).

Given the P1681 and P1682, should this point me towards a corrosion issue or should I just assume it's the usual oil sensor and replace them?

What say y'all?

I will second the Oil Pressure switches. I don't recall the years, but Seadoo had a bad bunch of them. They now have an updated version. They created issues. Alarms, Limp Mode, that kind of stuff..

Thanks guys. I have a set of both ready for just this instance. What was confusing me was the no limp mode, and minimal number of beeps and
the timely issue of seeing the gauge cluster being fogged up as well. I'll change and report back so we can have a "fixed!" thread....

If you have evidence of condensation in your information center, it only a matter of time before things go crazy. Low voltage communication circuits don't like erratic resistance caused by corrosion.

I haven't changed my oil pressure switches, so I guess I should have some of those on hand.
