Hi all, new here. There's a 2002 gtx for sale in my area that says it's a 4tec. My brother has a 2003 burgundy and gold limited, and it's clear that the hull and the gauge cluster is definitely different to his.

I am skeptical if this blue one is actually a 2 stroke, as they did not provide any pictures of the engine bay lol. Would be super shitty to do to an unsuspecting buyer. I love 2 stroke skis as much as the next guy, but from an owners perspective I'm done with them and want a 4 stroke.

Does anyone know if the 2002s GTX hull style is different? I thought the GTX recieved a hull redesign during its launch to accomodate the 4 stroke engine. Sidenote, I am aware of the 2002's transition ecu which will be a point of discussion for sure. It has 150ish hours so it likely dodged the shoddy crank forging issue.

Cheers

That is a 2 stroke. The 4tecs never used that type of gauge. That hull is different than the 4tec hull. However, they did put the 951 DI in the 4tec hull in 2002. Easiest way to tell is to look at the gauge. Check out link below...

4tec and DI same hull
