The above mentioned ski will not crank over after replacing the pump bearings and drive shaft. I have tested the following from guidance from the shop manual.
1. The battery has been charged and reads 12.67 volts.
2. The battery terminals have been cleaned.
3. The starter relay checks out good. There is 12 volts to pin 2 and no volts to pin 1 on the solenoid connector. Shorting pin 1 to ground cranks the starter.
4. Installing lanyard produces 2 short beeps followed by 1 long beep followed by 2 short beeps every few seconds. I think the 1 long is trying to indicate a problem.
5. All fuses in the PMEP and starter relay are good.
6. The TPS checks out good as per the shop manual. 65% throttle will not allow engine to crank.
7. While working on the pump I hit the starter a few times to turn the drive shaft. It worked a few times then stopped cranking. Plugs are out to make turning over easier and to not start the engine. Now it will not crank.
8. Checked out start button.
9. Checked out DESS aux module connectors.
10. Checked out EMS/ECU connectors.
11. Removed battery ground wire and used a different battery connected directly to starter and ground, starter runs.

What could be my problem?? Thanks in advance....Art

Thank you Tech-phillppines,

I don't believe that is my problem. When I short the no power side of the solenoid the engine cranks over. It appears to me that the start button is not grounding so the solenoid can power the starter.

Now the same button is used to stop the engine. Could it be in the stop "stuck mode" and this will not allow the start button to ground and crank over the engine.

I don't know.....

You can check the start button forcontinuity its obly two wires the yellow red and the violet but if the continuity is good then the start button has no problem that is the bendix or the friction gear in the starter that preventing it from cranking or sometimes the stater it self become weak the the winding in rotor become weak as the ski become old because of many times of starting.....

I don't believe its the starter or solenoid. If I ground pin 1 to the battery of the 4 pin connector to the start relay, then engine will crank over just fine. Somewhere in the PMEP or computer the ground is not being allowed. Why?

Well, I installed a momentary switch in the ground wire and lead it to engine ground. Now I hit the start button to start the fuel flowing and then hit my new start button to crank the engine.. It cranks over fine now, BUT will not start. No fuel to the cylinders. It will run on starter fluid but not on fuel from the tank. There is fuel being pumped, I think the injectors are bad or the computer is not firing the injectors. Any ideas are graciously accepted.

You have a bad or no ground to the engine block. Run a separate ground wire lug to the starter mounting bolt and the other to the battery, permanently.
You might have distribed the factory ground somewhere after working on it.

Thanks for the reply AircraftDoc,

The engine will crank if I ground pin 1 in the Starter Replay. Some how the computer is not allowing the ground. So I installed a separate momentary switch to make the ground and now the engine cranks fine BUT will not start. I believe there is no fuel coming out of the injectors. A new and different problem. There are 14 sensors on this engine and it could be any one or more of them. Ideas greatly appreciated.....Art
