I've been struggling with my merc 240 ho EFI cutting out. Not sure if it's fuel related or electrical. It will run smooth at idle and low rpm but as you begin to accelerate it wil cut out like a skip, and at WOT it will shut down instantly. Throw it in nutural and hit the key and it restarts instantly. I replaced the high press. Fuel pump, plugs, checked exhaust hoses, and now replaced the temp sensor in the port side head. I will test drive tonight after the sensor replace and hopefully this fixes it. If not I'm at a loss...next items are big ticket , ECM, stater, etc...Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I have the same issue let me now what worked out for you
I put a couple spark testers on and identified 2 bad coil packs. I hooked up two of them on two of the plugs at a time, and as the boat accelerated, I could see 2 of the coil packs break down around 2000 rpm and loose spark. Replaced the two coil packs and problem solved. You should look at my thread with Dr Honda in the Merc motor section, there is additional information that is helpful/important.

Just an update, I started to have issues again with stalling and low power. I pulled the flywheel and changed the trigger, runs really well now, better than it ever has. I truly believe I had multiple issues and this was the final problem. Hope this helps

thanks for the information I replaced all 6 coils filter and spark plugs I order the trigger I hope that do the trick en put me back in the water thanks again
