I had taking my ski out for the first time on Friday to make sure everything was good for Saturday. I had a small leak in the hull it took on some water. So Saturday I fixed the crack. I took it out on the lake Saturday. It lasted about 5 minutes. I had started it up for about a minute and then sut it off and loked to see if it was taking on water. All good. I did that one more time and everything was fine. I thought to be on the safe side I would check one more time. I hit the start/stop button and it shut off, but the starter was turning over the engine. There was no spark because it never tried to fire up. I pull the lanyard thinking that would stop it. No luck the starter was still turning over. So I grabbed my screw driver and disconnected the negative cable battery. Everytime that I touched the battery the starter started again.
I tryed pushing the start/stop button and like I said the lanyard was not on. PLEASE HELP

Ben it sounds like the solenoid is bad and making a constant connection and causing the starter to just keep turning over. I would follow the red+ wire from the battery to the water sealed box. Remove the cover and check the solenoid where the red wire attaches to. First thing is disconnect the small "Trigger" wire from the start/stop switch. Connect the battery now... If it still happens it is the solenoid is bad. If it didn't turn over with the "trigger wire disconnected it is in the stop /start switch. If you need "parts" click on the link at the top of the page, or go here... http://www.seadoowarehouse.com/

I hope this helps.

I just tried what kustomkarl said to and everything worked. Is it possible to have asolenoid get warm and stop working and then work again when it cools down. Or with the switch?
