Owned XP for week and half. Bought at auction and it had been sitting some but appears relatively untouched for the age of the ski. Siphoned old fuel out and put in fresh with some sea-foam. Cleaned out screw off filter and sump, quite a bit of gunk. Ran ok, but hard to get past 3 grand on water, if I pumped the throttle it would plane out and run good. Ran for maybee ten minutes then left me a little too far from shore. My good neibghor brought a canoe out to get me and we made it back just after dark. Pulled carbs out and put new carb kits in. The internal filter in the carb was very plugged. I headed to table rock lake with the family for our annual vacation. No time to test it before I left. Running real good but after 10 to 15 mintues it starts to loose power and then I haven't been able to get it started since. The plugs are dry and so I am assuming that I am not getting fuel. Wondering about fuel venting so I plan to test that in the morning, but would appreciate some guidance. I do have the grey fuel lines and I am not sure of compression. Holding my finger over the hole it feels very good and when it has been running it has pulled very good. Feels like a two stroke dirt bike coming on the pipe around 4,000 rpm. Thanks for your help.

hey...yah, start with compression, then, still w/grey lines, may have sucked something back into internal filters,(that fast). Replace them, along with clean/replace the fuel selector valve, inline filter and rego threw carbs. Have the experience now, shouldn't take ya long...., also, check/replace the reed pedals.

:) - God is good. It is up on the water and running great now! Cleaned out the oil injection line. Had stringy goop caught in the spring, pretty much completely plugging the line. Also pulled out the fuel pick up and cleaned the strainer. It wasn't to bad, but all four fuel lines were so loose that they slipped right off. Not sure if that caused the fuel issues, but that was all I did. I haven't ridden a Seadoo before and am amazed by what I am assuming is the RAVE valves kicking in at 4500 rpm. It is like two different engines. I read KustomKarl's comments about cleaning them. Any ideas on the powerband or is that the way it is supposed to work.
