Specs: 2001 Utopia M2 Optimax 200hp

Hey guys,

I recently bought a used 2001 Utopia. Love the look, and size of the boat but I'm having some serious issues.

The boat is real slow off the start and with four people in the boat it won't plane. At top speed I'm hitting 29mph at 4k rpms. I'm not table to reach 5500rmps at full throttle. I did have an issue where the fuel pump fuse kept blowing when starting the engine. The mechanic fixed it, but not sure what was done to resolve the issue. I did a full tune up, plugs, oil etc as well.

Any suggestions?

Start with checking fuel and air pressures. Then compression test. All plugs out. WOT.

4000rpm sounds like you are running on 4 cylinders. Figure out which cylinders are not firing. The spark plugs will not be as hot as the others. Swap out coils. Does the misfire stay where it was or change to the new coil location? If it moved, you have some bad coils. If it stayed the same, you may have injector issues.

Thanks, I'll give it a try and post an update.
