Hello. I just picked up a 01 seadoo speedster. V6 merc. 240hp. Was running great. Took out running fine. When trying to power down I pulled the throttle all the way back... Rpms where at 4000...And when trying to pull back in neutral. I had to use a lot of force to do so...and it wanted to go forward...the rpms where at 4000.. I couldn't get it to go into neutral at all because of the high rpms.. Need help

This is the PWC section. I will move this thread to the Merc section.

But, your description is hard to follow.

Are you saying that even with the throttle all the way down... the RPM's stayed up at 4000? Or... are you saying that you couldn't pull the throttle down? If the throttle isn't all the way down... the control handle locks.

Hello when pulling back on the throttle all the way back the rpms stayed at 4000 and I was unable to put into neutral because the rpms where so high ...

The gate shouldn't be hard to move.

So... with the boat out of the water... will the control levers move easy?

Regardless... you need to figure out why the engine isn't slowing down to idle. SO... check the throttle cable, and make sure everything is working on both ends. (levers, and engine)
