I am looking at buying one of these and docking it in the San Francisco bay. I am alittle concerned because I have read about corrosion problems with this particular boat, anyone know about them?

Also, if I was to get one of these I would have to bottom paint it and everytime I use it flush the engine with fresh water right?

I know the new Seadoo Challenger 1800's have a closed cooling system, what year did Seadoo start putting in those closed cooling systems?

Thanks

Eric

I believe the closed cooling system started in ....uh...03 or 04 I believe. I still wouldn't recommend leaving you seadoo in the water even over night. The water will seep in to areas that aren't recommended to that type of exposure. Plus the upkeep to keep barnacles off the impeller and jet pump...cooling lines..ect.

my dealer said this the closed cooling system is perfect for salt water and I should not have any problems...

The utopia is not closed I realize that

A new challenger 1800 with closed loop should be ok don't you think? I would pull it out of the water every 2 months or so...

I am trying to find a boat that I can store at my boat dock, that would be sport boat (not fishing) that I could leave in the water 2-3 months at a time any other suggestions?

Thanks for your advise

The seadoo manual says "do not leave in the water"!

SEA DOO's aren't to be left in the water for any extended time. look in your manual. It isn't a I/O it is a jet boat.
