Hi I have a 2001 Seadoo Challenger 2000 Jet Boat with the 240hp EFI motor. I have had this boat just over a year now and overall I love it. However I have been noticing one issue and that is sometimes it gives me a hard time starting once I am out on the water. I have had the entire boat gone through (temperature sensors, gas, fuel system, compression test, new spark plugs, etc...) about a month ago. I was just wondering if anyone new of anything else that I should check on my boat? Are there any tricks I need to be aware of when starting my boat. I always have the blower on when I start the boat. Does anyone else ever have problems like this?

THanks for any response to this post.

do you by chance

use your choke once it is warmed up? Sometimes people forget and don't realize they are pushing in their choke when they are starting it up once it's already been running. That would make it not start right?

There is no choke on the EFI. I've noticed the same thing with mine. If I'm out cruising around at 500 RPM or more and shut it down, it starts back up with no problem.

If I'm idling through a no wake zone or pulling skiers or tubers and need to idle around to get the rope back to them, then shut down, it has trouble starting again.

As a test try this...open it up to clean it out and then shut it down. Try the restart. Shut it down again after idling around for a good five minutes or so. see if this is when you have problems starting.

It's just a theory I'd like to see proven correct.
