2001 Utopia-Throttle Hard to Engage Forward and Reverse

- 2001 Sea Doo Utopia-Merc V6 Optimax 200 - Throttle hard to engage (pushing/pulling) through full ranges of forward and reverse - Possible problems causing this and giving me some fix actions would be much appreciated!
- Also additional question: (sorry for complete lack of knowledge and the laugh it may cause!) As throttle is moved forward does it also open (through cable action) the jet outlet bigger and bigger?

Could be cables, shifter, or at the engine. Disconnect it at the engine end. If it is still there, then go to the shifter end and disconnect it. If it is still there, then it is the shifter.

On the additional question...

No, the reverse bucket is essentially in one of three positions. Up for forward, Down for reverse or half-way for neutral.

More then likely its the throttle mechanism adjustment that puts more or less tension on the throttle/gear-shift arm. You have to remove the throttle mechanism and loosen off that tension screw. Check the Seadoo manual for the location of that screw.
