I have 2001 RX that ran perfect, someone turned the reserve on and didn't tell me. Then my wife took it out and it ran out of gas and she killed the batt trying to start it. So the next weekend I went back to the lake with gas and a charged batt. It would not start, checked all the fuses and they were fine. It would turn over and everything worked fine as it should, just wouldn't fire. Checked plugs and no spark on either plug. So then it was back to the house, I got my O scope out and started to look around. I am getting no signal at the Coil. So I checked the signal of the Crank sensor and I am getting the shark tooth wave form, but it is only like 50mV is this correct. Also does anyone have any suggestion on what the issue may be. Does it sound like the MPEM is bad. Thanks for the help..

Gary.

this is carb model, not di, correct? did you check the for spark with the plugs grounded and a strong battery? the coils on these are a bit odd to measure and test, an oscilloscope is very little help in comparison to the seadoo manual. after running out of gas, you can put some fuel into each cylinder and it will prime the system, may take 2 or 3 tries before it stays running. not sure on the crank sensor voltage but I have never seen an electrical problem arise out of running out of gas, or overcranking the starter(seen starters get burnt up, though).
