I am looking at a 2001 RX di that has 20 HRS on it and looks like it just came off the showroom. The price is right but there is a problem, the owners took it to the local lake three times and after that it sit for the last 5 years. I put a new battery in and started it up and it idles great. The problem is that when you give it fuel it dosent want to take it, it kind of boggs down. I changed the fuel and I don't know if it has reached the injectors or not. I looked in the cylinder with a inspection light and it looked like the cylinder walls where light brown. I'm going to take it to the water in the mourning and let it run for a while, other than that I am open to suggestions as to what the next step is for this problem. I don't know if the fuel had stabil or if they fogged the engine. I do know that they ran antifreeze through it.. Thanks for any advice..

Stabil or not 5 years is too long for fuel. I'd remove all of that fuel, like you did and try it. A compression check is in order too as the light brown you described sounds like rust. The power valves may need to be checked and cleaned and the injectors may need some attention as well due to the varnish that has most likely collected.

How much compression should this model have and how would I go about cleaning the injectors...
Thanks

I just did compression test and resaults where about 118. I think the rings are stuck is this a possibility? If so how does one correct this.

118 in both cylinders isn't too bad for a DI motor that has sat for 5 years, it will probably come up to 130 after some running time and the rings get reseated. you should get some running time on this boat with the new fuel first before doing anything. hopefully, the injectors will clear themselves and all will be fine. let us know.

I found out that I did the comp. test wrong.. When I did it the correct way I got 145 out of both cylinders. I took the ski back to the water after filling up with good fuel and injector cleaner. The results where great, the ski will run at about 6850 rpms wot. There is just the slightest miss every now and then on the top end but I think once it is run in and all of the old fuel is out of it this problem will go away.. thanks
