Last week, I could not get my boat to throttle up in Reverse. I can put it Reverse and she has no trouble reversing at idle, but something is holding back my ability to throttle up.

Forward works flawlessly. The reverse gate operates as expected with no problem. And the weekend before, it operated just fine in F and R.

Is there some kind of override I’m not aware of?

I may be very incorrect,,,,but is there a “lockout” to prevent accidental high thrust backing up?

Up until this past week, it was not an issue. But it seems that there is something in the control for the throttle. I may just take it apart. I did see some threads where a 3” metal piece was found in the floor which allowed the full power to be used in reverse-which seemed dangerous.

I don’t know.
