I am having issues with my 2001 GTX stalling randomly when running. It will be running fine could be at top speed or just idling and it will just shut off completely. I pull the key and starts right up but will stall out again. sometimes it runs for hours other times it happens every five minutes. Anything that I should look at first?

I would check the DESS post and key. Check the electrical contacts on the post and inside the key are clean. There is probably a resistance test that is in the shop manual for the DESS post. I would tap on the post and move the wires around while taking those measurements to see if the internal magnetic switch or wire connections are intermittent which I think would cause what you describe.

Just an update. I struggled to find the issue. I changed the dress post and tried multiple new keys and checked all the wiring to the post. Everything checked out fine. In a fit of rage I just cut out the first connection to the dess post and hard wired it.
That solved the problem but in testing the connection there was no indication that itwas bad.
