Installed a new motor into my 2001 GTS. Ran on ground with hose hooked up and no water leaks. Ran it in water yesterday for the first time and after about a half hour it started taking on a significant amount of water. I visually inspected the cooling system and don't see any leaks at idle to half throttle. It appears the water is coming from the bottom of the engine. Is it possible it's coming in from the driveshaft?

yes it could come from the drive shaft, 2 ways to do it, on the trailer fill the ski up with some water in the hull see where it comes out, or as soon as you put it in the water see where it is coming in, did you put the carbon ring back on? did you align the motor and pump?

there are also 2 orings in the metal collar in front of the carbon ring and boot, check to make sure the clamps are tight on the boot and that the carbon ring is being pressed aginst the collar.

Thank you for the input...I'll go give er a whirl and hopefully that works...have a big weekend of riding.

Have a good weekend!
