I posted last week about my gts not starting consistently, but here is the story again. I put the 2001 gts in the water hooked up a fully charged good battery, and felt it should start easily as it has in the past.
I put the dess on and did not get any beeps, I screwed around with the terminals and connections, and still no beeps. I do something else for a couple of hours come back put the dess on and I get 2 beeps and away it goes. I get out a little ways from shore and it just quits, dead. I pull off the dess and try meking sure it has a good connection and nothing, so I paddle back to shore. I screw around again for awhile with the connections and
nothing.
I come back to it after a little while and put the dess on and 2 beeps and off I go, this time it goes for the rest of the day, so I think things are good. Next morning I take my daughter for a ride, everything is good, but after about 1/2 hour the seadoo quits, dead again. No beeps nothing.
I go up to the lake this past weekend, nothing has been done to it since I have left, and I put the dess on get my 2 beeps and it almost starts, then it just dies again, no beeps nothing.
I have 2 fully charged very good batteies, and neither of the worked. When I get the 2 beeps everything is all good and it starts like nothing.
I have checked connections, sprayed 2-4d on them, checked the ground, fuses all look good, I am thinking it might be the dess post, but I took off the handle bar cover and didn't see any loose wires.
I am generally pretty handy when it comes to fixing simple mechanical or electrical issues, but this has me stumped and I am really hoping for some ideas on a quick fix.
Thanks in advance for any help I get.
