2001 challenger 240efi. Pulled the boat out for a cleaning before making one of the remaining trips out to the lake. Boat is full on oil and has a little less than half a tank of gas. Last trio out the boat ran great, no issues. Anyway, after cleaning I tried to crank it and got nothing, well almost nothing. The oil light beeps once and flashes but all I get is a spinning sound from the motor. That's it, it doesn't try to crank, just that sound.

Any help, suggestions are appreciated!!

Ok after getting some help with my wife turning the key while I watched, the whirring noise is indeed the starter spinning but it won't engage... Now what ?

After a little more tinkering it appears that the starter was just "stuck" if that's possible. It is free now and the engine cranked. Is there a lubricant recommended that I can put on it so it stays free??
