Hi all,
I have a 2001 challenger 1800 - motor (supposedly including starter) is less than 2 years old. the starter is stuck in the engaged position, can I lube it and smack back into place or should I replace it? Any one had this condition before?

It isn't uncommon for them to stick. Can be a few things that cause it. Low voltage, bad bendix, shaft that the bendix rides on needs lube, or a poor quality starter.

You pretty much have to try something,,, so I would suggest pulling the starter, pull it apart and lube the bedix shaft with a good marine grease.
I would do a load test on the battery first though. Low volts cause some very weird issues...

The battery was very low, that's was the first thing I checked; pulled it, tested it, charged it, re-installed it, but that's as far as I got, its been a busy week. also need to figure out why the battery was low, the connection wasn't great but it was good enough to start the boat. So I need to check up stream from there.

Poor connections and low volts (aka bad battery) are the two highest issues when it comes to our skis. I can not express enough how important a quality connection is. You can have a battery that is decent and with good connections all is good. Start combining bad batteries and poor connections and you will fight it a VERY long time in many cases.

Mine is the version before they switched to alternators, can I easily add the alternator?
Also, how much is a replacement screen for a white Iphone 4 AT&T?

Can't answer the alternator question, that is something Dr Honda could help you with.

iPhone screen for the 4 version installed is $47.00 I'm in Ohio. But,,, I will be in Tampa tomorrow night. No idea how far that is from you. Thanks for asking,,

No... it's not EASY to add the alternator. The top of the top of the engine is different. But the regular 240 EFI engine has a 40a output. It's plenty to charge a couple batteries in a sport boat.

the battery had a bad cell and I replaced the soliniod, now it tirns over but does not appear to get spark. checked the plugs, they look clean, checked all the fuses I could find, and I can smell gas when it tourns over - leading to think its a spark issue. New plugs on order, will be in tonight.
