2001 Challenger 1800 new 240 hp M2 power head

looking for a new Challenger 1800 - 2001 -240 hp M2 power head SR #OE386098 can anyone give me direction, also I am thinking of premixing my fuel so I will not be depending on the plastic oil pump gear on the crank as I hear this is the weak link to this motor.

The Manual says never! Not even briefly. That said, I ran mine for about 30-60 seconds to ensure it actually turned over and ran before buying it. I did not know any better, there are no warning labels. I don't believe it did any damage, I don't know what could possibly be damaged before anything heats up.

Just a note...you posted in the "2-Stroke SeaDoo Sport Boat Forum"...which in fact is true about your boat, but there is a Forum specific to the Mercury powered boats and posting there will net better results...hopefully one of the Moderators will see this and move it for you...
