I have a 200 XP, pretty new to owning a seadoo. However not new to water craft. My family have owned various SeaRay(you'd think the companies would be related) cabin crusiers.

Anywho...

I have been having problems with water in the bilge. Water goes in, but does not come out. I have located the bilge pump. But cannot locate the switch/sensor for it. The machine is generally stored in water(not great i know)

Can anyone help me with finding the sensor/trouble shooting why it doesnt turn on?

Thx
Mike

bilge pump sensor

I recently looked into my bilge pump on a 2002 and the sensor for that pump is in the pump itself. I removed the pump to see if it was operational and wired it to a battery. When I placed it in a bucket of water it turned on, when I removed it from the water it turned off. it still doesnt work in the boat, and i am currently checking the wiring to see if that is the problem.

The bilge pump should turn on if needed even if the power switch is off. There is also a manual switch on the dash so you can manually turn it on. Check the fuse first, then the bilge pump itself. It might just be a blown fuse or a bad connection. Use a multi meter for testing for power.

does my 93 xp have one? I have to use a shop vac to suck all the water out after an hour of riding just letting the plug out gets most but not all of it out

My mpem relay has a resistor soldered between two terminals. And I found the resistor had coroded off with salt water and the bilge had failed automatically to run. And no power to my ski's electrics. So I resoldered the resistor to a new auto vehicle 12v 5 pin relay and got it working again.

If fitted the 5 pin relay could be blamed for many a false mpem and/or electrical failure.

Worth checking first before expensive shop repair.
I simply hate being ripped off.

There is no switch on my model? there is a bilge pump in the back compartment(by the VTS motor and battery)
