2000 Sportster with Mercury Battery size?

I have two batteries with a battery switch in my sportster 1800, and one is 'ok', the other is totally dead... so I'm going to replace both of them.

I looked through the manual, and didn't find anything other than the max dimensions for battery... so, the bigger the better as long as it fits, or is there a size you guys can suggest for me? Should they both be the same CCA deep cycle? Or one bigger than the other? (Currently one is bigger than the other... I bought it like that)

From the manual: Battery maximum allowed size: 285 mm (11-1/4 in) long x 190 mm (7-1/2 in) wide x 238 mm (9-3/8 in) high.

Thanks!

A double battery wasn't factory. So, since someone has worked on that... you will simply need to see want group size is there. I'd guess it's a group 24... but who knows.

You only want to use a deep cycle for electronics only. (not to start the engine) There are some Dual Usage batteries for boats, and that's what I would recommend. Also... most MS (Marine Starting) batteries, can be drained more than a standard car battery... so they are OK too.
