How hard is it to replace the starter? Because lately when you hit the starter it just clicks but then other times it starts just fine....

I would check the battery, and the battery ground going to the engine by the starter first. If it looks good and clean, Check the starter solenoid. Follow the Red + from the battery to the sealed electrical box. Open it up and using a 14 guage insulated wire jump across the solenoid. If it rotates the starter it is more than likely the solenoid. If the starter doesn't rotate it's the starter.

I hope this helps.

ok i opened the box, but there's 2 big red wires going into the box! and i cant tell which one comes from the battery because they are ran under the engine.. but when you look in the box the wires end bolted side by side! and one of them has a little red wire running to something in the box... so do i wire jump the 2 BIG red wires? or........

1 wire is going to the starter solenoid and the other wire goes from the solenoid to the stater. Jump across the 2 wires.

You are by-passing the start button directly and using the starter directly. It will spin over instantly.

Hey man. Solenoid is located in the electrical box. Black box on front right of hull. To test, depress start/stop button and measure the voltage on the solenoid positive posts with a multimeter. If you get no voltage and your battery is good and charged then you gotta replace it.

cpope...has 2 post, looks like 2 inch pieces of all thread bolt. Where the 2 big red cables connect to, but on each side...

AH! im gonna get the shit shocked out of me! ha ha

In the back where the jet is (In the back HULL where the battery is)... anyways i grabbed the impeller shaft (i think thats what its called is the big bar that goes toward the front of the waverunner and spins the propeller!..anyways i can grab it and pull up and it wiggles pretty loosly up and down.. normal??
