Hello All,

I have a 2000 Sea-Doo Speedster. It has the 1st gen Merc 240 EFI. I just had a couple questions.

1. What type/brand of oil do you recommend using? I've purchased the DFI oil in the past but it costs a fortune.

2. I winterized the boat. However, I wasn't able to run the engine after adding the fuel stabilizer and fogging. Do you think I should be good? The boats in a garage but it does get pretty cold in Missouri.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

1) Any good synthetic TC-w3 oil is fine. I've been using the Pennzoil XLF for the past 3 seasons. You don't need the DFi oil... since it's not a DFi engine.

2) The fogging oil goes in after you run in the fuel stabilizer. So... on that part you are fine. BUT... you need that fuel stabilizer to be in the filter, pumps, and vapor tank to do it's job. Personally... I would drain off the spin-on filter (take it off and dump it) then pour a little 2 stroke oil, and stabilizer into it... then run the engine for 5~10 seconds to get it into the vapor tank. (then re-fog it)
