No, 1996 XP is a 787.

Maybe a 95 XP, 95 XP’s have the 717

I want to ask a stupid question, why do spacers have a much larger hole than the crankshaft diameter

Please don't buy a used crank unless it is from a reputable person, not eBay.
Your cheapest rebuilt crank is going to be SBT.
