I recently fixed the baffel and when i put everything back together it runs at a high rmp. I have not put it in water yet just on trailer but it is ideling at 2400 rpm where it should be at 1400 rpm. I also know that at half throttle it is running at 7200 rpm which is full throttle. I am not sure if these two are connected or not but the fuel level indicator keeps changing, as in when it was running it started at empty and went to full then back to empty again. Any help would be great, trying to fix it up so i can sell it.

2000 rx runs at high rpm

The idle out of the water is higher because there is no load of the water on the impeller, so it rev's higher. The guage might be jumping as the fuel sloshes back and forth...but it should read some what stable.
