Mine doesn't have a hole there. Just a flat. SO... I'm going to guess that a previous owner added a temp sender... or water pressure sender... or something. regardless... that's part of the cooling system, and should be plugged.

Wierd , cause the guy who had the boat before me was a take it to the shop kinda guy. and on both sides i noticed yesterday have that same hole. with no plugs. just doesnt make sense. I wont be back up to the boat till the 4th of july now. i will update when i get back up.

The shop said its the water vaporizer. They are waiting for the parts, thats all they told me so far

There's no part that goes there. Look on the parts explosion. BUT... if a shop sells you something... please let us know what you get.

Still don't know what it could be. You have a "Water Separating" fuel filter. But it's on the side of the engine. (The big spin on filter) But please... post up what you get.

Just digging in my computer, and found an ok pic of that side of my engine. But you can see there's nothing there.

AND...

Here's the parts explosion for the engine you should have. (verify your serial number falls in the range) while it doesn't show that side of the head... it does show that it only has the cooling fitting, and the temp senders.

DR. i will , The place i went to is very reputable. but i must have been confused when he called me. i will be there on the 5th and will post when i get back exactly what everything was
