Not finding this on search but here goes my best explanation as kid was operating at time.
00 GTX with appx 100 hrs will idle fine on lift for the few seconds that I dare run out of water but once in water won’t operate with throttle applied and doesn’t even seem to want to idle. Also excessive smoke. Kid said machine was running fine and all of a sudden heard sound that sounded like metal on metal and then wouldn’t hardly run…grasped at straws and changed plugs with no change. Not really sure what to look at next. I’m sure he was running it hard when it broke.
