Hello everyone. New here. I've been on boats and PWC's most of my life. With that I've worked on them all. I changed the starter on my GTX RFI and started fine. Took it to the lake and ran then started hesitating to finally not running well to nothing. Changed plugs. I have good spark. Pulled injectors and they work fine. Went ahead and checked compression 150 and 147. Turns over better than ever. Just won't start!! This Doo has me stumped. Fuel and fire and it should start but it doesn't. Anyone been there done that with this model?

Mine does the same thing. I'm wonder if the ground is only make good contact on the starter and not transferring to the rest of the ski. I'm to the point on mine I'm checking every dang thing. I got 20 hours wroking my ski and it did the same thing as yours. new Starter, started and ran OK. I sprayed the engine with Seadoo Anti Corrosion and the next day it started ran bad for about 15 seconds bogged and killed. I have a magnificent supply of spare parts and I've changed everything. It still does the same thing. But I'm wearing it down. LOL

At the moment, I may have found an issue. I put two spark checkers one on each plug. Sometimes I can keep it running at 1/2 throttle but running very badly. The spark plugs testors show the spark dimming alternately and the dimming matches the RPM loss. I swapped coils so that isn't the problem. I bought a used wiring harness to install. Everything checks out and tests good. I even swapped injectors and sent the others off for cleaning. They were good. Anyway.... stuff like this happens. No one can really help you. You guys gotta trudge your way through it. :)

I tell ya it's like this thing is trying to get the best of me. I've never not been able to make an engine run no matter what kind it was. I went out to the garage this morning after its been setting for a few days and it almost wanted to start but didn't. We have a ski doctor in town. I'm dropping it off to him to run more diagnostics on it. I'll let ya know what he finds out.

I was telling my cousin, few easy things stump us. The more you know, the more difficult the problem. I have absolutely no hope of anyone helping me. The crap I get into is generally way beyond help that is out there. Not because I'm great but because knowledgeable people no longer mess with the old skis so that knowledge base is gone. I just started working on the Seadoos a couple years ago cuz I like playing with them. Even the so called gurus on the message board have not put a wrench to a fuel injected ski. Good Luck with the ski. Let me know how you make out !!

For mine, I'm going after the wiring to the coil. I think it is a ground problem. Sometimes these skis activiate components by supplying them with a ground. I might even install another ground to the engine from the battery. I checked the hell out of it many many times from many positions..... Good Luck !!
