I recently purchased this PWC.
It runs okay out of the water but totally bogs in the water.
If I disconnect the Waterbox, it runs great.
I pulled the waterbox, flushed and cleaned it, reconnected it and same problem.
It seems the box is restricting the exhaust flow.
Even if there is no water in it.

Is the motor putting out too much exhaust pressure?

Check the big rubber hos that goes from the waterbox to the outside of the hull. They are known to delaminate on the inside and choke off the engine.

thank you. I did. It bogs with only the waterbox attached and no piping connected to the discharge of the waterbox.

The box looks like this. Looking inside, it has one flanged hole. It also has some sort of covered hole. image.jpg

I would check your compression.
I haven't heard of a waterbox causing this issue unless a baffle broke free but you should hear it rattling around.

I put it back together, everything seemed okay. Then I thought what if the RAVE valves are stuck. I removed them and found that there is a spring on the top of the valve, and a smaller spring under the baffle. I watched a few videos and one of them says there should never be a spring under the baffle. Is that true? I also don't see a second spring in the rebuild kit.

Are you talking about the ones on the engine or the water valve on the waterbox that looks like a rave valve?

Just following along with this thread, can someone tell me roughly where part number 10 is on the diagram? I can’t for the life of me see it. I see part 15 which is common, on every rave valve I have ever seen but can’t find part 10 which says it is a compression spring. Thanks
