Previous owner lied to me told me that he removed the oil pump and was running premix, well he was running premix about 50:1 by the looks of it, anyways the oil pump was still on it, so I removed the oil pump...my question is I am sure I need to remove the oil pump drive shaft and have been told I need to remove that front cover and remove the clamp to remove the oil drive shaft...is this true and anything I need to watch out for while pulling that front cover off?

I personally don't recommend removing the oil injection system for most people unless your going to race it, but lots of people do but they are actually very reliable as long as you use the correct oil. many times people blame the oil injection when they use junk oil when their ski blows up.
removing the mag cover is simple, just remove the bolts, there are 2 guide pins, just wiggle and pull, it should come off, remove the plastic drive, put back on along with a cover plate with some silicone for the oil pump hole.

funny you brought that up, they where running premix quicksilver premium 2 stroke outboard oil, I spoke to seadoo and they told me even as premix only run synthtic 2 stroke pwc oil in it as required by the manufacture

Thanks for the help earlier..........As an outbourd mechanic for years, the quicksilver oil is the best in the industry for outboards. I am a certifided omc/yamahah mechanic and we still recomended quicksilver tcw3 oil. This whole jet ski thing is new to me, and I am going to do what the manufacturer is saying.
