2000 GTX no start, 2 beeps then 4 long beeps

Little background on this machine: always had a draw on he battery so a disconnect was installed, other than killing batteries it was fine until the last year it was in the water. Riding it, it would randomly shut down, you could hit the key and it would fire up for another 15 seconds then die, did this to get it back to the dock. After that, it wouldn't start, I would get the 2 beeps, hit crank and a long beep, no start. It was the end of the season, we towed it in and it has been in my garage for a few years now.

The current issue is this: charged battery (its the lithium out of my motorcycle for now), put the key on the post and I get 2 short beeps then 4 long beeps. Most of the time but not always I get a Hi-Temp warning that flashes a few times then goes out. The machine has 300ish hours on it, sometimes when trying to figure it out the clock will reset back to 12:00.

So I have searched multiple forums on this issue and this is as far as I've gotten:

Good battery in the machine, all fuses are good and getting power, MPEM connectors and sockets are good, no corrosion or bent pins, I tested the DESS post and the key is closing the circuit from black to black/yellow, all 3 of the post wires have good continuity to the MPEM.

My post and key are good, I'm sure of it. I'm leaning towards the MPEM being the culprit but I hate calling a module and not being 100% positive on it. Are there any other tests I can do? What's the common cause of a hi temp warning and is there a way to bypass it/would that cause 4 long beeps? My understanding was the 4 beeps was no communication with the MPEM?

Please advise!

I had a 2001 GTX but it ended up being the MPEM box had water in it. I cleaned it up, dried it out in the hot sun for a couple of days and it worked. I'd get 2 beeps then right away 4 long beeps. Difficult to read but it said low battery even though the battery was fresh and hot.

Opened up the box and found some moisture, opened up the Bosch ecm as well and moisture in there too. All parts are currently sun tanning, fingers crossed!!

I very gently clean the prongs on the MPEM for good contact but if they look good I don't mess with them. Some get a little corrosion on them and I like good contact. Good luck with it !!

All looked clean, it's been 2 days of drying, reassembled everything loosely and plugged all in. So far getting only 2 beeps! The start stop button is power up the gauges so that does work. I don't hear the relay clicking or any noise at the starter. Tried jumping the relay and a few sparks but no crank. I'm guessing there is a main ground off the starter and it is a ground for most other things?

Is this a GTX RFI? For some reason I thought it was. Check the ground in the rear electrical box. I'm not sure if the RFI needs a second ground connected from the rear electrical box to the battery. That holder relay has a fuse in it. If the holder relay doesn't pull in the ski won't start. Yep great Idea to check the grounds but make sure you're getting power to the starter solenoid. Also they ground on the starter. You could try jumping the starter to see what happens. They get corroded inside from moisture over the years. If the starter is aftermarket.... well they die a quick death often.

Good news! Pulled the starter out and bench tested it, got absolutely nothing out of it, since brp was hacked I couldn't order a new one, had it rebuilt, reinstalled it and found my starter relay was also pooched. Jumped the relay with the key on and she fired up!! New relay and she works as she should. Excellent advice on drying out the modules.

- dry out modules from front compartment
- new starter motor
- new starter relay
- new battery
