Hi,

I have been having this problem for a while now, it fixed its self for a few months but now its back.

My ski starts fine, i use it on the water for less than an hour then it goes to 1 cylinder, and i manage to limp back to shore.

If i leave the ski for a day and go back to it, it starts first time. I can use it but the it goes back to 1 cylinder after an hour.

I have tried new plugs, cleaned powervalves as they were very sticky.

I have also had a new starter motor and a new battery.

Before these problems started there was a drop/bog in power when i went from low revs to full throttle, but then it picked up.

Any ideas would be appreciated as im about to sink it!!!!!

Thanks

Paul

What colour are your fuel lines? Sounds like you have a fuel delivery problem. Typcial problem with the grey fuel lines are a build up of debris in the filters. You should take off the carbs and clean / rebuild them before you cause other problems.

Thanks, i was hoping you wouldn´t say that!

One question tho, why would it only affect one cylinder? Would this not cause trouble with both? It is allways the same cylinder!

If i did need to rebuild the carbs, does anyone have a guide to removing the exhaust system, which i guess you have to remove to get to the carbs?

Most would think that when one goes, the other will go to. Maybe the carb going to that cylinder is more clogged up than the other? I mean, there is no law that states that both your carbs must be clogged at the same level at the same time.

OK.

So i guess im gonna be stripping my carbs this weekend then!!

Does anybody have a guide on removing the exhaust that covers the Carbs?

Does anybody else have an idea of anything else it could be? Somebody suggested to me that it might be the HT leads?

One other thing i want to try first is to change the HT Leads.

As one of them looks to have been cut down before as it is very short.

Does anyone have a guide on doing this?

Remove from spark plug

Pull boot back

Remove spark plug attachement "spring"

Trim some wire off (do not strip)

Reinsert spark plug atttachment "spring"

Your done

What about the other end? Inside the magic black box?

Is it easy to remove them from there? I was going to replace them fully?

Is this a good odea?
