2000 gti will crank but will not idle

I have a 2000 gti and it sat for 18 months. I wouldnt crank at all. Took the carb off cleaned and reinstalled. I got it to crank but now it will not idle. I can pull the choke and it will crank for a couple of seconds. I have tried to adjust the idle. I got it to idle for a about 30 seconds but it was running about 4000 rpm. I also took the oil mixing off and now mix it in the tanks. I have other skis and have done the same thing to them but never have run into the problem that I am having with this ski. Just cant figure out what is going on any help. I looked for a manual but couldnt find one on the site. Maybe it might be me because I am a new member here too.
