Hello,

I have a 2000 GS that is having problems. I charged the battery all night, hooked it up and I get the two beeps when I connect the lanyard. When I press the start button, nothing happens as if the battery was still dead.

I know this can be any number of problems, but what is the most common issue that this could be?

Thanks

Fuses?

Have you checked the fuses?

If your getting the two beeps, then the mpem is powered up and communicating.

If the fuses are good, double check your battery. It may have a loose connection at the battery or starter. Or, it may be bad. Just because you charge a battery, doesn't mean it's good. If you do all the above and still get no start, then take it to your local auto supply store and have them load test it.

If all is good, then you may need to check your solenoid. You can pull off the electrical cover, that you see the red, postive wire from the battery going to. You'll see where the wire connects to an electrical part, thats the solenoid. Use something to jump those two wires across the posts, like two screwdrivers. You can try this after you check the fuses. If it turns the motor over, then chances are, you got a bad solenoid.

Thank you for your reply. I have one other question.

To charge my battery, I am using the Deltran SuperSmart Battery Tender Plus 12-Volt 1.25 AMP Battery Charger. On my battery it says 1.8ax5~10h or 9.0ax1.0h. Is it ok to use this battery charger?
