2000 Challenger Switchbox Assemblies

Hello All,
I had both of my Switchboxes smoke out on me this weekend and need to replace them.
My questions is should they be replaced with OEM or are aftermarket OK.

OEM are close to $400.00 each and aftermarket are $230.00.

Do not want to spend any more than necessary.

Thanks,
Mike

Di you happen to mean fuseblocks?

Have you had a chance to remove and closely examine your switchboxes?

I have always wanted to replace mine also. There are some examples at westmarine.com. Much cheaper than OEM, but still more than ebay.

There are some important aspects to investigate with these switch boxes before just swapping them out, CDI electronics used to provide a complete checklist so have a look for it.

Thank you for your replies.

Tim, there is not much to see. I determined that I have some type of issue with my ignition switch, I have a new one on order and once I get it will troubleshoot it. When I went to start it, both of my units poured out white smoke and both now have an oily substance coming out from around the wires. They are sealed in a black epoxy and are not serviceable.

Sportster, I have ordered (2) CDI units and downloaded the checklist. Thank you for bringing to my attention it was available.

Mike
