2000' 240 efi manual?

i have a 2000' 240 efi . the manual from this site is 2001'. i'm trying to troulbe shoot all of my warning systems function. 2001 has a differnt digital system. is there other informantion here some were or does someone have that section of that manuel i can download. or is it just trace and conform power is there. there is one wire on motor that is unplugged, when it is plugged in . motor want start and alarm all sound. thanks tim

The second manual from the top should be the one you are looking for. The bottom Merc manual is for the newer style. It's also not unusual to find wires that are unplugged. The Merc came in a lot of different boats with a lot of different options, so not all wires should be plugged in.
Sounds like the one you're trying to plug in is for an optional temp gauge and you may be grounding the cylinder head temperature sensor.
