Hy guys im new into boating I have a 2000 challenger 2000 mercury 240 im using mercury premium plus oil can a just change to quicksilver premium by just filling they oil tank mixing it with the mercury. Thank

Normally it's bad to just switch 2-stroke oils without a clean-out. BUT... in this case... Mercury and Quicksilver are the same. You should be fine.

Didn't both the Merc and Quicksilver oils have a "Premium" and "Premium Plus" version? I know I purchased and returned the premium in the past after figuring out I grabbed the wrong one.

I really don't know how much difference it would make in those two oils, but the recommendation from Mercury is Premium Plus.

I purchase Premium Plus at Fleet Farm, and I know Walmart will stock it once in a while, but then switch it with Premium. So I am sure to read before just grabbing.

Good luck!

I'm glad I finally learned that Quicksilver was the same as Mercury 2 stroke oil. I was looking everywhere for "Mercury" oil and couldn't find it. I passed up the Quicksilver at Walmart for something like $20.00 per gallon and ended up buying the same stuff from West Marine for $39.95. Dammit.

Yes. There is a premium, and Plus. On is Synth, and one is a blend. They should still be compatible.

Just an FYI...I buy my Quicksilver Premium Plus from Walmart...my local Walmart stocks it, but I order it online for store pickup because it's $3/gal. cheaper this way...I have found that Walmart sells a number of items cheaper online than in the store...so by ordering online, what I know they have in my local store on the shelf, I save the $3/gal. and almost always I can pick it up within an hour of ordering...
